Kylie Kelce is getting a quick lesson in royal etiquette, and she is owning the mistake. The “Not Gonna Lie” podcast host apologized to Kate Middleton, formally known as Catherine, Princess of Wales, after learning that the way she addressed the royal during a recent episode was not considered the proper form of address.

Kelce, 34, revisited the subject on the Oct. 1 episode of her podcast, one week after publicly inviting the Princess of Wales to join her for a conversation about motherhood, sports, and their shared love of field hockey.

Why Did Kylie Kelce Apologize to Kate Middleton?

During the Sept. 24 episode of “Not Gonna Lie,” Kelce discussed the Princess of Wales showing off her athletic skills during a royal engagement. That prompted Kelce, who played field hockey in college, to extend an invitation to the royal. “Princess Kate, Duchess of Cambridge,” Kelce began before suggesting they “chitchat about some field hockey and maybe kids.”

There were two issues with the introduction. Catherine is no longer formally styled the Duchess of Cambridge as her primary title. Following Queen Elizabeth II’s death and King Charles III’s accession in September 2022, Prince William became the Prince of Wales and Catherine became the Princess of Wales. The Royal Family’s official website currently identifies her as “The Princess of Wales.”

Kelce also learned that referring to Catherine as “Princess Kate” could be considered too informal or incorrect in a formal royal context.

By her next episode, she was ready to make a correction.

Kylie Kelce Says She ‘Didn’t Know’ About the Royal Etiquette

Kelce addressed the criticism directly on her Oct. 1 podcast episode and explained that she had not realized her wording could cause offense. “I love learning,” Kelce said, explaining that she had been unaware of the issue. “I didn’t know that. Now I know that.”

Rather than dismissing the correction as a technicality, Kelce said she wanted to address Catherine in a way that was respectful. “I apologize for the mistake,” she said, adding that she wants to refer to people “in the most respectful way.”

Kelce then settled on the titles she plans to use from now on: “Princess Catherine” or “The Princess of Wales.”

“I will get that sorted immediately, starting now,” she said.

What Is Kate Middleton’s Correct Royal Title?

Catherine’s official title is The Princess of Wales. The Royal Family’s website identifies her as Catherine Elizabeth Middleton and notes that she married Prince William at Westminster Abbey in April 2011. The couple were previously known as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

That changed following Queen Elizabeth II’s death in September 2022.

In his first address to the nation as monarch, King Charles III announced that William would become Prince of Wales, saying that “with Catherine beside him,” the couple would become the new Prince and Princess of Wales.

“Kate Middleton,” of course, remains widely used in media coverage and online searches, even though it is not her current royal title. Her official royal biography uses Catherine and The Princess of Wales.

The title correction has not changed Kelce’s interest in having Catherine as a “Not Gonna Lie” guest. Her original invitation centered on subjects the two women could potentially have plenty to discuss, particularly parenting and sports.

Kelce and husband Jason Kelce are parents to four daughters, while the Prince and Princess of Wales have three children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Kelce also pointed to an existing connection between their husbands. Prince William previously appeared on Jason and Travis Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast, something Kylie referenced while making her invitation.

Still, she made it clear that she does not expect the Princess of Wales to accept simply because the invitation is out there. “I don’t think that anybody owes me anything,” Kelce said.

She nevertheless made her interest clear, saying, “I would love to speak to the Princess of Wales.”

Kylie Kelce Is Even Willing to Clean Up Her Language

There may be another adjustment required if Catherine ever does take a seat across from Kelce: the podcast host’s famously unfiltered vocabulary.

Kelce responded to a commenter who suggested she would need to tone down her cursing if the Princess of Wales became a guest. On that point, Kelce did not put up much of a fight. “First of all, you’re correct. Agreed,” she responded.

“Not Gonna Lie” is deliberately casual and candid, with Kelce discussing parenting, sports, celebrity culture and her life as part of one of football’s most famous families. The show releases new episodes weekly and has featured a growing roster of high-profile guests.

A visit from the Princess of Wales would clearly require a slightly different approach.

“We’re heading out to the Verity premiere,” the 43-year-old actress says in the clip. “Verity comes out in theaters Friday, Oct. 2, and then on Oct. 3…”

Before she can finish her sentence, a cartoon-like cloud of smoke suddenly fills the screen, making Hathaway disappear. Someone from her team can then be heard reacting in confusion to her unexpected exit.

The video cuts to a series of fake headlines announcing Hathaway’s disappearance, including: “Anne Hathaway disappears,” “As promised, Anne Hathaway vanishes into a plume of smoke,” and “Anne Hathaway simply evaporates.”

Consider her promise officially fulfilled.

Hathaway Promised She’d Disappear After Her Fifth Press Tour

The bit was a callback to a promise Hathaway made just days earlier.

During a Sept. 21 interview with Entertainment Tonight, the actress revealed that she planned to take a break after completing her fifth press tour of the year.

“I’m going to disappear and take some time off,” she said, joking that once Verity arrived in theaters, she would “vanish in a plume of smoke” and wouldn’t be seen again until necessary.

Hathaway is also expecting her third child with husband Adam Shulman. She announced her pregnancy in June.

Hathaway has had an especially packed year on the big screen.

“It’s a lot and you want to be able to show up fully for each film,” Hathaway explained. “And that’s asking a lot of people to look at you for a long period of time.”

Still, she decided to embrace the possibility that the year could turn out better than expected.

“But then I thought to myself, ‘What if it goes better than you’d imagine?’” she recalled.

Judy Reyes has spent more than three decades building a career. At the Critics Choice Association’s Celebration of Cinema & Television: Honoring Latino and Hispanic Achievements, the Dominican-American actress had a chance to stop and look at just how far she has come.

Reyes was honored with the Trailblazer Award, a recognition that brought her back to where her story began – the Bronx, her Dominican family, and the people who made it possible for her to dream bigger.

“I come from a long line of trailblazers, Dominican immigrants who could resist the risk and the temptation to live the dream and make a better life in the Bronx,” Reyes said during her acceptance speech.

Speaking with us on the red carpet, Reyes reflected on what she hopes the next generation of young Latinas won’t have to struggle with in the same way she did.

“I would say I don’t want them to be afraid,” she said. “I don’t want them to let fear stop them or hold them back, or rejection convince them that they don’t belong here because we do.”

That message is personal for Reyes, who recalled that her own mother initially worried about the risks of pursuing acting. Reyes ultimately trusted herself and built a career that has taken her from theater to some of television’s most recognizable shows.

Her son is now following his own creative path, preparing to pursue musical theater, and he was right there to celebrate his mom’s milestone. “He’s here, and he’s beside himself,” Reyes told us. “He’s so excited because he’s seeing all the people that he loves and all the people that he grew up with. And he’s so proud of me. And he’s like a super fan of everything.”

The proud mom also gave him a special shoutout from the stage, thanking her “obscenely supportive son” alongside her husband George Valencia and the people who have stood by her throughout her career.

Reyes went on to share that representation has always been about more than simply seeing a Latino face on screen. It is about recognizing yourself as someone who belongs in the story.

In her speech, she remembered growing up surrounded by music and performance, from her mother singing at church, Thanksgiving and Christmas to her father building speakers, collecting records and encouraging the family to sing, dance and put on performances. Then she saw an Afro-Latina performer and something clicked. “I was like, oh snap, I can do this,” Reyes recalled.

That realization helped push her toward acting. At 19, after performing in a seven-hour talent show filled with Latinos, she had what she described as an epiphany. She didn’t know if she would become an actor, “but nothing was going to stop me from trying.”

After spending so much of her career “keeping it moving,” Reyes admitted during her speech that she hadn’t always stopped to appreciate the body of work she had created. “I’ve been so busy keeping it moving that I haven’t really noticed the body of work that I’ve built,” she said. “I’m standing here being proud of myself.”

That pride extended beyond her own career. Reyes used the moment to make a larger statement about why representation matters, particularly for immigrant communities. 

“Being a trailblazer is to me being part of the story, and as success begets a platform, telling our own stories, whatever it takes, as we are blatantly being arrested and abused and deported and disappeared and violated and murdered,” she said passionately.  “Art is important. Art is a legacy. Art is history, and as immigrants, especially art is how we tell our stories.”

Brazilian-Canadian actress Laysla De Oliveira had plenty to celebrate at the Critics Choice Association’s Celebration of Cinema & Television: Honoring Latino and Hispanic Achievements, where she took home the Breakthrough Artist Award.

For the Lioness star, the recognition was meaningful not only because of the work being honored, but because of the people and stories represented in the room.

“I’m just so honored that the work on the show is recognized, but I’m even more honored to be in this room full of people that I admire and love and share the same culture with,” De Oliveira told us on the red carpet. “It just, like, makes my heart sing.”

During her acceptance speech, the actress got even more personal, reflecting on her parents and the sacrifices they made to give her the opportunity to pursue her dreams.

“My parents came to this country to make a better life for themselves and give me the opportunity to dream,” she said. “And now I get to stand here and proudly say that I’ve worked with my giants, that I’ve grown a lot every step of the way.”

That idea of working alongside people she once looked up to has been especially meaningful throughout her career. De Oliveira stars alongside Zoe Saldaña and Morgan Freeman in Lioness, something she said has essentially turned every day on set into a master class.

“Everything. It’s like being a sponge,” she said when asked what she takes away from watching actors like Saldaña and Freeman work. “And you only really realize how much you’ve taken in when you go into another job, and you feel like you’re in X Games mode.”

She continued, “You’re just like, wow, that’s because I’ve worked alongside my idols and just have been able to learn everything by osmosis.”

De Oliveira also used her acceptance speech to celebrate something particularly significant about Lioness: its Latin representation. “I get to just scream out that I work on a hit show with not one, not two, but three Latin leads,” she said.

De Oliveira went on to say that seeing more opportunities for people of color is something she hopes continues to grow throughout the industry.  “I just hope for more opportunities, which I think is happening – more opportunities for creative, talented voices, you know, people of color, because we have so many beautiful stories to tell,” she told us. “And I hope that it continues to grow and we continue to have the platform for that.”

Sophia Bush and Ashlyn Harris are married! The couple, who’ve been dating since late 2023, broke the news today. The two married privately, alongside their two kids, and told their family and friends after their simple ceremony. 

“When you get to this stage in your life, you begin to unpack what’s yours and what’s always sort of been for everyone else,” Bush told Vogue, which broke the news. 

“You’ve been playing in stadiums in front of 60,000 people since you were 15 or 16, and I started playing a character for tens of millions of people when I was 21,” she said, turning to Harris, who was seated next to her. “It’s such a privilege to be able to perform as an athlete or an actor, but it also comes with certain costs.”

Bush and Harris shared that they got married in upstate New York alongside Harris’ kids Sloane and Ocean. Harris shares her kids with her ex-wife Ali Krieger. Bush is a proud stepmom. 

“The kids were just running and happy, and we picked flowers from the property and our daughter Sloane was holding them. It was so fun for them, because it wasn’t this pressure-filled day that’s too much for young kids,” said Harris. 

“It was so precious, and zero pressure. I will never forget it, and I think wedding days sometimes aren’t like that,” added Bush. She shared that the two then visited their friends and loved ones to share the happy news. 

Bush prepares for the release of her first memoir

Bush wrote about her wedding in her upcoming memoir, “And I Will Tell You Mine: Notes From a Life in Progress,” which has been a decade in the making. 

“I’ve had my lovely book agent who has the patience of a saint and a handful of editors asking me to write a book for a decade. And for nine years, I said no,” she told PEOPLE. 

“I think when your life finally feels like all the pieces are in the right place, you start to realize why people might want you to share your story.” 

Bush’s book is coming out on October 27th. 

Lionel Messi has returned home to Argentina for what promises to be one of the most emotional nights of his extraordinary career.

The Argentina captain arrived in his hometown of Rosario on Friday, October 2, aboard a private jet after traveling from the United States. Messi was joined by his wife, Antonela Roccuzzo, their three sons, Thiago, Mateo and Ciro, and his mother, Celia Cuccittini.

The family homecoming comes just days before the 39-year-old football legend is scheduled to make his final appearance for Argentina, bringing his international career to an end in front of a home crowd.

Messi will face Benin on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, in an international friendly at River Plate’s Estadio Monumental in Buenos Aires. The Argentine Football Association has confirmed that kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. local time.

It will not be an ordinary friendly. The evening has been planned as a celebration of Messi’s remarkable career with the Albiceleste and a chance for Argentine supporters to say goodbye to the player who has defined an era.

Lionel Messi Returns to Rosario With Antonela and Their Sons

Messi’s private plane landed in Rosario during the early hours of Friday, with the football star returning to familiar surroundings before heading to Buenos Aires for his farewell appearance.

Antonela, Thiago, Mateo and Ciro were all with Messi as he arrived. His mother, Celia, also traveled with the family.

Messi had been in the United States with Inter Miami before making the trip to Argentina. According to El Gráfico, he trained with his club as recently as Thursday before traveling home.

His arrival marks the beginning of a significant few days for the Messi family and Argentine football.

When Is Lionel Messi’s Final Argentina Match?

Messi’s final Argentina game is scheduled for Tuesday, October 6, 2026, against Benin at the Estadio Monumental in Buenos Aires.

The match begins at 8 p.m. local time, according to the Argentine Football Association.

Messi has been called up specifically for the Benin match and is not expected to feature in Argentina’s other October friendlies. Argentina defeated Bolivia 4-0 on September 30 and will play Burkina Faso at the Monumental on Saturday, October 3, before Messi joins the squad for his farewell.

The Benin game is expected to draw a huge crowd, with Reuters reporting that around 85,000 spectators are anticipated at the Monumental.
