Nearly a year after Miss Universe Jamaica 2025 Gabrielle Henry suffered a serious fall during the Miss Universe competition in Thailand, the incident is back in the spotlight following reports that Henry has filed a lawsuit against the Miss Universe Organization and two related companies.

Now, María José Unda, vice president of International Affairs for the Miss Universe Organization, is addressing the controversy and explaining the organization’s position on the accident, the reported legal action, and the assistance provided to Henry during her recovery.

Unda discussed the case in an interview featured by Telemundo’s “En Casa con Telemundo” on October 5, 2026. The segment focused specifically on the reported lawsuit involving Henry and Miss Universe.

What happened to Miss Jamaica Gabrielle Henry?

Henry’s accident occurred on November 19, 2025, during the preliminary competition of the 74th Miss Universe pageant in Thailand.

According to a joint statement released by the Miss Universe Organization and Henry’s family in December 2025, she fell through an opening in the stage while performing her walk. She suffered an intracranial hemorrhage with loss of consciousness, a fracture, facial lacerations, and other significant injuries.

The accident required extensive medical treatment and hospitalization in Thailand. Henry later described the experience as deeply traumatic. Speaking to ABC News’ Deborah Roberts for “Good Morning America,” she said, “It’s one of the most traumatizing things,” adding that she “would not wish it on my worst enemy.”

According to Henry, she was following the directions and choreography she had been given when the accident happened. Reporting on the complaint says she alleges she fell approximately five feet through an unmarked and uncovered opening in the stage.

Gabrielle Henry files lawsuit after Miss Universe 2025 fall

Henry reportedly filed a lawsuit on September 21, 2026, in Delaware Superior Court against the Miss Universe Organization and two related companies, JKN Legacy Inc. and Legacy Holding Group USA.

The complaint reportedly includes claims involving negligence, premises liability, negligent hiring, retention, and supervision, as well as negligent and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Henry alleges that unsafe stage conditions contributed to the accident. According to reports describing the lawsuit, she claims intense lighting affected her visibility and that the opening she fell through was not properly marked or covered. These are allegations contained in the lawsuit and have not been established by a court.

The former Miss Jamaica contestant has also spoken publicly about the long-term impact of her injuries. “I have no recollection of the fall,” Henry told “Good Morning America,” according to PEOPLE. She said her first memory after the accident was waking up and seeing her mother.

María José Unda responds on behalf of Miss Universe

As questions surrounding the reported lawsuit intensified, María José Unda addressed the Miss Universe Organization’s response.

According to the organization’s position, responsibility for producing the 74th Miss Universe competition in Thailand, including the venue, stage, and on-site safety, rested with local host and production entities Miss Grand International and Miss Universe Thailand, under the direction of Nawat Itsaragrisil.

Unda emphasized, however, that Miss Universe stepped in following Henry’s accident. “From the moment of the accident, our priority was Gabrielle’s health, recovery and well-being,” Unda said in a statement reported by the Jamaica Observer.

She added that although operational responsibility rested with the local host and production entities, Miss Universe decided to support Henry and her family and make sure she received the care she needed.

Unda also addressed the broader safety implications of what happened. “What happened to Gabrielle is something we take very seriously,” she said, adding that the accident reinforced the importance of continually reviewing protections for delegates participating in Miss Universe events.

Has Miss Universe officially received Gabrielle Henry’s lawsuit?

Miss Universe has said it is aware of media reports about legal action connected to Henry’s accident but, as of its recent statements, has not been formally served with the complaint.

In a statement reported by GMA News, the organization said it had not been served with or received “any lawsuit, claim, demand letter, or subpoena” from Henry or someone acting on her behalf.

Because of that, the organization said it was not in a position to address specific allegations it had not reviewed.

Miss Universe details the support provided to Gabrielle Henry

The organization has also emphasized the financial, medical and logistical assistance it says it provided following the accident.

According to Miss Universe and reporting on Unda’s response, the organization covered Henry’s hospital, medical and rehabilitation expenses in Thailand. It also covered accommodation and living expenses for family members who remained with her during her hospitalization and arranged a medically escorted return to Jamaica.

Those efforts were previously described in the December 8, 2025 joint statement from Miss Universe and Henry’s family.

At that time, the statement said Miss Universe had covered hospital, medical, and rehabilitation expenses in Thailand, along with costs for Henry’s mother and sister and her medically escorted repatriation.

The organization’s more recent statement says it has not received a subsequent request from Henry or her family for additional medical-expense assistance.

Angelina Jolie’s longtime Los Angeles home is entering another celebrity chapter. Madonna has reportedly purchased the actress’s historic Cecil B. DeMille estate, a property whose Hollywood connections stretch back more than a century.

The estate sold for $24.75 million on September 24, after Jolie listed it for $29.85 million in May. While The Wall Street Journal initially reported that the buyer’s identity could not be determined, subsequent reports have identified the Queen of Pop as its new owner. Neither star has publicly confirmed the reported purchase.

For Jolie, the transaction closes a chapter that began in 2017, when she purchased the property for approximately $24.5 million following her separation from Brad Pitt. 

The final sale price was $5.1 million below her asking price and just $250,000 above what she paid, before accounting for ownership expenses and transaction costs.

Inside the historic estate:

Located in Laughlin Park, a gated enclave in Los Feliz, the roughly 2.1-acre property includes an approximately 11,000-square-foot main residence with six bedrooms and 10 bathrooms.

 A library, wine cellar and gym are among its amenities, while the grounds include a guesthouse, swimming pool, pool house and dedicated tea house.

The setting is equally impressive. Mature trees, rose gardens and rolling lawns surround the residence, and the primary suite opens onto a private patio with sweeping views. Despite its location in Los Angeles, the compound offers the space and seclusion of a much larger retreat.

A home with more than a century of Hollywood history:

The residence dates to 1913, with its design credited to architect B. Cooper Corbett. DeMille purchased it in 1916 for $27,893 and lived there until his death in 1959.

The filmmaker, whose credits include The Ten Commandments and The Greatest Show on Earth, later expanded his estate by acquiring the neighboring residence associated with Charlie Chaplin. He connected the houses with a glass corridor, using the additional property as a guesthouse and office.

The estate also played a role in DeMille’s working and social life. According to Architectural Digest, he entertained prominent visitors there, while the rose garden hosted family weddings. A scene from his 1927 film The King of Kings was even filmed in the estate’s olive grove. The property remained in the DeMille family until the late 1980s.

Madonna’s reported interest began with a video tour:

Madonna’s connection to the property emerged before the sale. In August, the New York Post reported that her representatives had contacted the brokers and arranged a video tour because she was not in Los Angeles to see it in person. Representatives for both stars did not respond to the outlet at the time.

Her specific reason for choosing the estate has not been publicly established. Its privacy, generous grounds and cinematic pedigree are distinctive features, but attributing the purchase to any one of them would be speculation.

For Jolie, the sale follows her previously expressed desire to spend more time outside Los Angeles once her youngest children reached adulthood. Twins Knox and Vivienne turned 18 in July, making the transaction a notable development as she considers her next chapter.

Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis may have some of the most recognizable royal titles in the world, but inside the classroom, things are considerably less formal. The three children of Prince William and Kate Middleton, the Prince and Princess of Wales, do not routinely use “Prince” or “Princess” as part of their everyday school names. Instead, they follow a royal family tradition that gives them names that sound much more like those of their classmates.

At school, they are known as George Wales, Charlotte Wales and Louis Wales, according to reports.

What names do Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis use at school?

When a surname is required, the royal siblings use Wales, taken from their parents’ titles as the Prince and Princess of Wales. That means Prince George becomes George Wales, Princess Charlotte is Charlotte Wales, and Prince Louis is Louis Wales in the school setting.

Their formal royal styles are quite different. The Royal Family lists the siblings as Prince George of Wales, Princess Charlotte of Wales and Prince Louis of Wales. George is second in line to the throne behind his father, followed by Charlotte in third place and Louis in fourth.

The simpler school names allow them to skip the formality of their titles during ordinary school life.

For George, that school life has now entered a significant new chapter. The 13-year-old began attending Eton College in September 2026, following in the footsteps of Prince William, while Charlotte and Louis continue their education at Lambrook. Recent reporting confirms George has begun his first term at Eton.

Why do the royal children use Wales as their surname?

There is a straightforward royal explanation. Members of the Royal Family with titles do not always need to use a conventional surname in the way most families do. When one is needed, royal children have historically been able to use a name connected to their parents’ territorial titles.

George, Charlotte and Louis previously used Cambridge at school because William and Kate were the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Reports from before the change described them as George Cambridge, Charlotte Cambridge and Louis Cambridge.

That changed after Queen Elizabeth II died in September 2022 and King Charles III acceded to the throne. William subsequently became Prince of Wales, the title previously held by his father. The Royal Family confirms that King Charles announced that his eldest son would be known as the Prince of Wales following the late Queen’s death.

The children consequently became George, Charlotte and Louis of Wales, and “Wales” became the surname used for school purposes.

Prince William used the same school naming tradition

George, Charlotte and Louis are not the first young royals to experience this switch between palace titles and school names.

Prince William and Prince Harry were known as William Wales and Harry Wales during their younger years, taking the name from their father, who was then the Prince of Wales. PEOPLE notes that the same royal naming convention has been used elsewhere in the family, including by Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, who used “York” in reference to their father’s Duke of York title.

So although “George Wales” may sound surprisingly ordinary for a future king, it is actually rooted in an established royal practice.

Prince George reportedly had another very British school nickname

George’s surname is not the only name linked to his school days.

During his time at Thomas’s Battersea, reports claimed his classmates called him “PG,” an obvious play on Prince George. The nickname reportedly developed into “PG Tips,” after the famous British tea brand, and was eventually shortened again to “Tips.”

Even more intriguingly, George once reportedly introduced himself to a stranger using a completely unexpected name.

In 2019, a woman who encountered George while he was out with his grandmother Carole Middleton said she asked the young prince his name, despite already knowing who he was.

According to Marie Claire UK, George replied: “I’m called Archie!”

The woman recalled: “To my astonishment, he said, ‘I’m called Archie,’ with a big smile on his face.”

What nicknames do Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis have?

Charlotte has also been linked to a more familiar nickname. Kate previously appeared to reveal that she calls her daughter “Lottie,” a traditional shortening of Charlotte. During a conversation with a member of the public whose son was the same age as Charlotte, Kate reportedly responded: “Oh, he’s the same age as Lottie.”

Charlotte has also been linked to the affectionate nickname “Mignonette,” reportedly used by Prince William. Louis, meanwhile, has reportedly been called “Lou Lou” by his older siblings.

The ordinary school names behind extraordinary royal titles

The contrast is particularly striking in George’s case. Officially, he is Prince George of Wales and second in line to the British throne. One day, if the monarchy continues on its current line of succession, he is expected to become king.

Yet at school, “George Wales” is enough.

Charlotte and Louis have the same distinction. Their titles may identify them instantly as members of Britain’s most famous family, but their school names remove at least some of that formality.

Future king or not, school mornings apparently remain school mornings.

Kim Kardashian is one of the busiest women in Hollywood and the primary caregiver of her children North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm, whom she shares with her ex-husband, Ye, formerly known as Kanye West. It should come as no surprise that, like many working moms, Kim has a nanny – well, she has multiple. But while Kim has plenty of help raising the kids, she says she is still very hands-on when it comes to motherhood.

In a new interview with The Times, the reality star opened up about her parenting routine, revealing that she has one nanny on duty at a time, with four nannies rotating through the job.

Despite having a full support system, Kardashian says she makes a point of being there for the everyday moments with her kids. She takes them to school every morning, picks them up herself, and makes sure they have dinner together every evening.

“I think I am an intermediate-strict parent,” Kardashian told The Times. “I’m extremely patient and loving. I still have a kid sleep in my bed when they want. I read books with the kids every night.”

Kardashian also shared rare insight into her children’s relationship with fame. The Skims founder explained that as her children get older, she is navigating how much of their lives should play out in the public eye.

That question has become particularly important with North, 13, who has millions of followers on social media, has been releasing music, and has performed on stages.

For Kardashian, she admitted she is worried about their visibility, but explained that she tries to let each of them decide how much they want to participate. “Each kid does what they’re comfortable with,” she said. “So, my little ones come around when I’m filming, but they don’t really do storylines.”

North, however, has shown a much stronger interest in following in her famous parents’ footsteps. “North loves it a little bit more than the rest,” Kardashian said. “I hold her back.”

According to Kardashian, North is eager to take on more public-facing projects, which has forced her mom to take a step back and make sure she isn’t moving too quickly. She said they want to “savour” the moments they have and make sure they know how to manage her correctly. 

When it comes to Ye, while it’s no secret that they haven’t always agreed with each other, she said that’s one thing they are on the same page about. “With her, since it’s more music-related, that is something that her dad and I have better communication about,” she said. “We make sure that we’re aligned and that she’s in projects that we both approve.”

She explained they are picky and choosy when it comes to projects, and not just doing “everything that comes her way.” 

Katie Holmes and Jason Bard Yarmosky are continuing to make their romance known.

The actress and visual artist stepped out together Thursday for the Isabel Marant show during Paris Fashion Week, where they coordinated their understated looks and weren’t shy about showing some affection.

Holmes, 47, and Yarmosky, 39, held hands as they arrived at the fashion event, just days after enjoying another romantic escape together in Italy.

Yarmosky coordinated with his girlfriend in a black sweater and matching trousers. His square-toed boots featured steel-colored caps that complemented the metallic details on Holmes’ shoes.

The couple later sat together in the front row, where Yarmosky wrapped an arm around Holmes’ waist as they posed for photographers.

The Paris appearance comes after Holmes and Yarmosky were spotted getting cozy during a getaway to Lake Como.

The couple was photographed sipping champagne and cuddling while being transported around the picturesque Italian destination.

It wasn’t their first visit to Lake Como recently, either. The pair reportedly returned to the popular vacation spot after making another trip there just two weeks earlier.

Following their Italian escape, Holmes and Yarmosky headed to France for Paris Fashion Week. They were also among the famous faces attending a party hosted by Carine Roitfeld at the famed caviar restaurant Le Prunier.

Holmes and Yarmosky have seemingly made fashion week appearances part of their relationship itinerary.

The couple attended the Calvin Klein show during New York Fashion Week in September before heading to Milan, where they were spotted together at the Tod’s show last week.

Heidi Klum has spent decades commanding attention at Fashion Week, but this time, the supermodel had a new reason to celebrate in Paris.

Klum’s youngest daughter, Lou Sulola Samuel, 16, made her Paris Fashion Week debut on Oct. 3, stepping into the high-fashion scene alongside her famous mom for the Vivienne Westwood Spring/Summer 2027 show. And there was extra meaning behind the mother-daughter trip. Lou turns 17 on Oct. 9, and Klum revealed that Paris Fashion Week was an early birthday gift for her youngest daughter.

For the milestone moment, Martin wore an airy white maxi dress that leaned fully into the romantic, free-spirited aesthetic associated with Chloé under creative director Chemena Kamali.

And while Martin has spent the past few years steadily building a fashion résumé, walking a Paris Fashion Week runway puts her in an entirely new category.

Jennifer Garner is taking a trip down memory lane with one of her former Alias co-stars and ex-boyfriend, Michael Vartan.

The actress recently reunited with Vartan as she celebrated the 25th anniversary of the hit spy series that helped launch her into stardom.

Garner shared a rare photo with Vartan as part of an Instagram video commemorating the show’s milestone on Sept. 30.

“Alias was so far outside of anything I had done,” Garner recalled. “No one had thought of me for action. No one had thought of me for a tough role.”

The actress returned to Studio 8H on Oct. 3, one day before her 37th birthday, with Turnstile serving as the musical guest. Naturally, Johnson used her opening monologue to poke fun at her dating history before getting an unexpected assist from Taylor Swift.

Johnson kicked off her monologue by talking about her friends and their unwavering support for her romantic choices.

“I have really good friends. They don’t judge me for dating these men; they’re actually really supportive,” she joked, referencing her past relationships with musicians Chris Martin and Role Model.

That’s when Swift, 36, walked onto the stage.

“Ladies and gentlemen, my literal therapist,” Johnson said while introducing the pop star.

Swift quickly made it clear that she doesn’t actually serve as Johnson’s therapist.

“I’m not your therapist, actually,” Swift said. “You just show up once a week at my house with an empty bottle of wine and ask if I want some.”

“Yeah, well, I have manners,” Johnson fired back.

Swift then described Johnson’s supposed therapy sessions, joking that her friend would “flop” onto her couch and overshare before Swift offered the occasional, “Damn, that’s crazy.”

“Is that not a therapist?” Johnson quipped.

Johnson Has A Message For The Women

The Verity star continued poking fun at her romantic history, particularly her tendency to date musicians.

“I’m doing a public service by dating them because ladies, I am saving you a lot of money on Zoloft,” Johnson joked. “So you’re welcome, America! And also England and parts of Ireland and Cleveland, allegedly.”

Swift responded with an enthusiastic “Woo-woo!” referencing her husband Travis Kelce’s connection to the area.

The surprise appearance also gave Swift a chance to turn heads with her outfit.

For her surprise SNL appearance, Swift wore a Wells plaid off-the-shoulder mini dress by Simkhai, paired with a Cassandre Chain Saint Laurent belt and Burberry Pillar leather boots.

Johnson went for a much bolder look, stepping out in a red latex Versace dress from the brand’s Fall 2013 collection.

She completed the outfit with Giuseppe Zanotti Intriigo 90 mules and a Roberto Coin Wide Cobra collar diamonds necklace.

Swift Surprises Johnson Again With Birthday Cake

Swift wasn’t finished with the birthday surprises.

At the end of the show, the singer returned to the stage carrying a turquoise-and-white frosted cake for Johnson.

“Thank you for having my birthday with me!” Johnson exclaimed as she jumped up and down before embracing her longtime friend.

The sweet moment capped off an already memorable night for the actress.

The Friends Have Been Close For Years

Johnson and Swift have maintained a friendship for several years, and the actress has been part of some major moments in the singer’s life.

Johnson attended Swift’s star-studded July wedding to NFL star Kelce, 36.

The actress also appears in Swift’s latest music video for “Patient Zero,” which is featured on the deluxe edition of The Life of a Showgirl, which premiered at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards.

Just days before her SNL hosting gig, Johnson had another major Swift-related moment. She presented the singer with the first-ever Artist Director Honors award during the Sept. 27 ceremony.
