Phil Dunster, Gemma Chan, Aisling Bea, Marianne Jean-Baptiste Join Amazon MGM Rom-Com ‘Hello & Paris’ (Exclusive)

Amazon MGM Studios Hello & Paris is welcoming additional castmembers.

Phil DunsterGemma Chan, Aisling Bea and Marianne Jean-Baptiste have joined the cast of the forthcoming romantic comedy feature from writer-director Elizabeth Chomko, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. Javier BardemKate Hudson and Steve Zahn were previously announced to star in Hello & Paris, which is loosely inspired by author Deborah McKinlay’s 2014 novel, That Part Was True.

Hello & Paris is currently in production and described as being in the same vein as titles like Sleepless in SeattleWhen Harry Met Sally and You’ve Got Mail. The film centers on a landscape architect and a best-selling but embattled novelist who have a prickly first meeting in Paris before gradually getting to know each other as they exchange books and recipes while residing on opposite sides of the Atlantic.

Chomko (What They Had) helms the project from her own script. Hailing from Fifth Season, the movie counts Finola Dwyer as a producer and will get a worldwide streaming release on Prime Video. Legendary Entertainment’s 193 handled international sales.

Dunster is known for his Emmy-nominated role on Apple TV+’s Ted Lasso, and he also stars opposite Steve Carell on HBO’s Rooster and can be seen in the forthcoming How to Train Your Dragon 2. He is represented by Brillstein Entertainment Partners, CAA, United Agents, Viewpoint, Multitude Media and Jackoway Austen.

Chan has starred in such features as Crazy Rich Asians, Captain Marvel and Don’t Worry Darling and appeared on the series Humans and Extrapolations. Her forthcoming projects include Peacock’s The Five-Star Weekend and the thriller Josephine opposite Channing Tatum. Chan is repped by Independent Talent Group, WME, 1v1 Entertainment and VRW Publicity.

Bea is known for the series This Way Up, for which she won a BAFTA TV Craft Award for writing, and she can soon be seen on the Netflix series Grown Ups that adapts Marian Keyes’ novel. Bea is repped by Independent Talent Group, Chambers Management, CAA and Multitude Media. 

Jean-Baptiste earned an Oscar nomination for her role in Mike Leigh’s Secrets & Lies and has more recently appeared in the movies Hard Truths and Rumble Through the Dark and on the series Surface, Soundtrack and Homecoming. Jean-Baptiste is repped by Untitled, IAG and Independent Talent Group.
