Nikki Glaser Would ‘Absolutely’ Do a Leonardo DiCaprio Roast but Says He Shouldn’t Sign Up for One: ‘Maybe If He Was Donating To Climate Change’

Nikki Glaser further cemented her status as Hollywood’s go-to award show host at the Time100 Gala on Thursday night, taking playful jabs at a wide range of creatives being honored as some of the most influential people in the world. Glaser’s opening monologue took jabs at MrBeast’s fanbase, Noah Kahan for looking like a weed dealer at a Dave Matthews concert and Victoria Beckham for never cracking a smile.

“This event is unique for more than just the scope of its honorees,” she told the audience. “It’s also the only ceremony of the year where the girls from ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ aren’t singing ‘Golden.’ We tried to book them, but they’re headlining a boat show in Boise.”

Glaser, a Time100 honoree herself, became comedy gold after her standout performance in “The Roast of Tom Brady” in 2024. She’s since parlayed that momentum into back-to-back turns hosting the Golden Globes in 2025 and 2026 (and will return again in 2027). Her viral jab at Leonardo DiCaprio’s dating history (and love of pasta) during the 2026 Globes is still making headlines following her January monologue after revealing on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” that the “One Battle After Another” star sent her “three baskets of pasta as a ‘thank you.’”

“I haven’t really been scrolling because my special is coming out,” Glaser told Variety on the Time100 red carpet. “I try to avoid people’s opinions when something’s dropping. But I opened my phone earlier and [the pasta thank you basket] was like the first three posts. I was like, ‘Ahh!’ Seeing my face next to Leo’s on places like Variety and US Weekly is kind of fun, I have to say.”

Glaser said she’s made a habit of sending flowers to everyone she roasts “who was a good sport about it.” Aside from a few text messages, she said that DiCaprio was the only one who sent a gift.

“What inspired me to send flowers was realizing that so much of my success in those moments was their reactions: them being cool about getting called out and made fun of,” Glaser explained. ”It’s not easy to be on the receiving end of that. They could’ve easily been like, ‘I don’t like that joke.’ And they didn’t. I just wanted to say thank you for that, and encourage them to be like that at every award show, because it really helps the host out.”

As Glaser first told Variety‘s Marc Malkin, she won’t appear in Netflix’s upcoming live roast hosted of Kevin Hart because she’s done ”coming up short with short jokes,” she said she’d sign up for a DiCaprio roast — even if she doesn’t think he should do one.

“Oh, I don’t think he should do one of those. He doesn’t need to” Glaser explained. ” I mean, it would be amazing and I’d love to do it, but no. He should…but he shouldn’t. If I were anyone in his camp, I’d say, ‘Don’t ever do that.’ Maybe if he was donating [the proceeds] to climate change or something. I could see him doing that. But yeah, that’s one I would absolutely sign up for.”
