The scripted limited series based on the murder of JonBenét Ramsey has moved to Netflix from Paramount+, Variety has confirmed.
The series, which is headlined by Melissa McCarthy and Clive Owen as JonBenét’s parents, was originally reported to be in the works in March 2024 and received a formal greenlight at Paramount+ later that same year.
The true crime series will explore the murder of six-year-old Jonbenét, who was found murdered in the basement of her family’s home just hours after she was reported missing. The case was the subject of intense media attention at the time and continues to be even nearly 30 years later, as no one has ever been convicted of the crime. Multiple documentaries and news specials have been made about the case to date.
