There’s a new film marketing and distribution company on the market: Aero Films.
The theatrical-first company, founded by Warner Bros. veteran Ryan Pallas, will launch with its first film acquisition, Steve Pink’s “Terrestrial.”
“Our goal with Aero Films is to curate bold, distinctive films from filmmakers with unique perspectives and to connect them with audiences through innovative marketing & distribution. I am thrilled to be launching with ‘Terrestrial’ as our first film. Steve and the filmmaking team have created an incredible mashup of comedy, suspense, and science fiction that’s unlike anything I’ve seen before. I can’t wait for audiences to experience it.”
Jermaine Fowler, James Morosini, Pauline Chalamet, Edy Modica, Rob Yang and Brendan Hunt star in the darkly comedic sci-fi thriller. Pink (“Grosse Pointe Blank,” “High Fidelity,” “Hot Tub Time Machine”) directs from a screenplay written by Samuel Johnson and Connor Diedrich.
The film’s longline reads: A long overdue reunion weekend spirals out of control for four college friends. The host, an aspiring science fiction writer on the verge of sudden success, fights to maintain his sense of reality — a struggle which becomes increasingly difficult in the face of otherworldly dangers.
“I’m thrilled ‘Terrestrial’ is escaping into the world,” said Pink. “We made a movie about friendship, paranoia, ambition, and the very unhealthy human instinct to invite your friends into your home and then slowly lose your mind in front of them. Also, it’s funny. Which is either a selling point or a cry for help. Go see it!”
“Terrestrial” was produced by Josh Jason and Molly Gilula at Hurley/Pickle Productions, alongside Molly Conners at Phiphen, AJ Bourscheid & Austin Lantero at Range Media Partners, and Chalamet, Rachel Walden, & Luca Balser at Gummy Films.
“We always knew ‘Terrestrial’ was a film meant to be experienced together, in the theater, with your friends. We are so fortunate to have found a partner in Aero who shares this belief. They want this film to be seen in theaters just as much as we do, and that means the world to us.”
The company was founded with a clear mission: to champion unique voices and distinctive genre films, and is committed to working with both established and first-time filmmakers, identifying films that push creative boundaries, and finding innovative ways to connect these films with passionate audiences.
The deal was negotiated by Range Select.
