Supermodel and television host Heidi Klum is one of many to pay homage to the art world at the 2026 MET Gala.
Klum took to the steps on Monday night in a custom look by designer Mike Marino, inspired by classical works such as the “Veiled Christ” by Giuseppe Sammartino and the “Veiled Vestal” by Raffaele Monti.
Made of a blend of materials like latex and spandex, the custom piece aimed to turn Klum into a “living sculpture,” aided by the illusion of stone being carved.
Other stars spotted at fashion’s biggest night of the year so far include Connor Storie, Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried, Emma Chamberlain and more.
The 2026 theme, “Fashion is Art,” is tied to the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Art exhibition.
Beyoncé is co-chairing this year’s gala along with Nicole Kidman, Venue Williams and Anna Wintour.
Anthony Vaccarello and Zoë Kravitz will lead the gala host committee, which includes Sabrina Carpenter, Doja Cat, Gwendoline Christie, Alex Consani, Misty Copeland, Elizabeth Debicki, Lena Dunham, Paloma Elsesser, Lisa, newly installed head of editorial content of Vogue U.S. Chloe Malle, Sam Smith, Teyana Taylor, Lauren Wasser, Anna Weyant, A’ja Wilson and Yseult.
The lead sponsors of the gala and exhibition are Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez Bezos. Additional support is provided by Saint Laurent and Condé Nast.
Curated by Andrew Bolton, the Costume Art exhibition examines “the centrality of the dressed body, juxtaposing objects from across the museum’s vast collection with historical and contemporary garments from the Institute,” according to the Met. The exhibition will run from May 10 to Jan. 10, 2027.
