Absolute Batman Getting the Funko Treatment as Comic-Con Exclusive

It’s one of the rites of passage at San Diego Comic Con. Exploring the massive footprint, and the almost labyrinthian byways, of the Funko  book at the San Diego Convention Center.

The pop culture company is one of the must-see destinations of the convention center, thanks in part to its expansive line-up of convention-only exclusives that fans and collectors insatiably gobble up.

This year will be no exception. Except that this year may be exceptional in that for the first time since becoming a publishing sensation, DC’s Absolute superheroes are getting the Funko treatment…as SDCC exclusives.

Funko will be offering Absolute Batman, Absolute Superman and Absolute Wonder Woman as part of their Comic Con exclusives. And Funko is determined to keep them a rarity. Only 1,000 figurines are being presented, each being priced at $40. The vinyl figures stand 4.1 inches (10.4 cm) tall. And to get fans even more hyped, Funko has a special chase variant of each character that some lucky collector might find.

This exclusive figure comes pre-packaged in a UV Premium Plastic POP! Protector and will have the 2026 Summer Convention sticker on the box. And to prevent knock-offs, the collectible will feature the company’s new authentication packaging via its partnership with Octane5 and use micro-optic technology.

DC’s Absolute line launched in 2024, starting with Absolute Batman and truly reimagined DC’s heroes for the modern era. Following Absolute Wonder Wmman and Absolute Superman, DC published Absolute Flash, Absolute Green Lantern, and Absolute Martian Manhunter. The line proved especially popular and a hit, with many of the titles selling into the six figures. On top that, the comics were celebrated by the industry and critics, with the titles earning eight Eisner Award nominations and two wins last year.

Two years on, the line is still going strong. In fact, Absolute Batman’s sales, instead of trending downward, defied gravity and increased. And this year, the line’s titles garnered 13 Eisner nominations. (The Eisners are handed out yearly at Comic Con.) And there is also the halo effect of the comics creating superstar artists and helping DC beat Marvel in market share for the first in decades.
