View TV Studios, the production and distribution company behind View TV ONE, has closed a deal to acquire U.S. rights to “Gray,” AGC Television’s espionage thriller, starring Patricia Clarkson, Rupert Everett and Lydia West.
The eight-part series will premiere on View TV ONE in the 9 p.m. weekly slot beginning Saturday May 23, with each episode available the next day on demand.
“Gray” is the story of CIA spy Cornelia Gray (Clarkson) who comes in from the cold after 20 years in hiding, dodging the government agents who suspected her of being a traitor. She returns to her old life just as it is discovered that there is a new mole within her old spy network.
Clarkson, whose credits include “Sharp Objects,” “House of Cards,” “Six Feet Under,” “Pieces of April” and “Easy A,” is a Golden Globe and three-time Emmy Award winner and Oscar nominee; Everett is a BAFTA, Golden Globe and Olivier Award nominee, with credits that include “Rivals,” “My Best Friend’s Wedding,” “An Ideal Husband” and “The Happy Prince.” West, a BAFTA TV Award nominee, has appeared in “Big Mood,” “He Had It Coming” and “It’s a Sin.”
Rounding out the key cast are Wendy Crewson, Shawn Doyle, Tim Rozon, Jamaal Grant and Benjamin Sutherland.
“Gray” is directed by Ruba Nadda and written by John J. McLaughlin, based on an idea from best-selling author David Baldacci. The series is executive produced by Ruba Nadda, Baldacci, Marc Shmuger, Clarkson, John J. McLaughlin, Timo Argillander, Elisa Alvares, Stuart Ford, Lourdes Diaz and Miguel A. Palos Jr, and produced by Teresa Ho.
