Prediction market provider Polymarket said it had suspended trading after a third-party provider was “compromised,” affecting users on the platform’s international venue.

Polymarket announced the breach Thursday after users reported seeing their assets withdrawn without their approval on the social media site X (formerly Twitter). CoinDesk confirmed that users who had balances on Polymarket’s international platform saw their accounts drained.

“We have identified and fixed the issue impacting our international platform,” the statement on its status page said. “One of our third party providers was compromised, and we have referred this to relevant law enforcement.”

The statement went on to say that users would be made whole, but that platform trading had been halted.
