Revry’s new comedy series I’m Dead is set to come alive June 7.
The 12-episode, half-hour series was filmed over two nights at Los Angeles performing arts theater the Cat’s Crawl, and it blends “stand-up, reality-style confessionals and thematic storytelling” into a new comedy format, per Revry. It stars a mix of emerging and established queer comedians, a roster led by RuPaul’s Drag Race breakout and All-Stars contestant Salina EsTitties with Kaycee Conlee, Percy Rustomji, Lady Bushra, Marval A. Rex, Revry’s King of Drag season one breakout, Pressure K and others.
I’m Dead hails from full-service production company Purple Intuition and was directed by Marie Alyse Rodriguez, who co-founded Purple Intuition alongside Edgar Lacey Rosa. Each episode carries a theme, like “family and upbringing,” “dating and relationships,” or “social observations,” and the comedians offer their perspectives. The episode themes are also presented through confessionals featuring unfiltered one-liners, personal revelations and rapid-fire commentary.
“With I’m Dead, we ironically set out to make the most alive comedy show we could,” explained Revry chief creative officer Christopher Rodriguez, who also co-created the series alongside Revry co-founder Damian Pelliccione. “Every single comic on our stage brings a genuine and genuinely brilliant take on the queer experience. And one that the world has yet to see. It’s weird, it’s loud and it’s honest — and that’s exactly why it matters.”
