The Phoenix Suns intend to keep their backcourt depth intact heading into the 2026-27 season, as they have reportedly agreed on new contracts with guards Collin Gillespie and Jordan Goodwin, per ESPN’s Shams Charania and The Athletic. Both Gillespie and Goodwin are unrestricted free agents.
Both Gillespie and Goodwin were developed internally with the Suns, evolving from end of the bench players to key role players for a Phoenix squad that went 45-37 and earned the No. 8 seed in the West last season. Gillespie will reportedly sign a four-year deal, while Goodwin returns on a reported three-year pact.

Gillespie went undrafted in 2022 and has spent three seasons on Two-Way contract – the first two with Denver before joining Phoenix in 2024. He received a standard contract with the Suns ahead of the 2024-25 season and averaged a career-high 12.7 points, 4.6 assists and 1.2 steals across 28.5 minutes per game.

Goodwin averages 7.0 points and 4.1 rebounds on 41.1% from the field across time with the Wizards, Grizzlies, Suns and Lakers since 2021, and returned to Phoenix for his second stint with the Suns after he was waived by the Lakers in July. He averaged 8.7 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.2 assists across 70 games this past season.
