A furious mother-of-five has hit out at Harvester after she claimed to have received a ‘snack-sized’ meal.
Louise Reecejones said she felt ‘totally ripped off’ after spending £200 while visiting one of the restaurant chain’s branches in Merseyside to celebrate her daughter’s birthday last month.
The 48-year-old said she ended up having to purchase even more grub on the way home from The Derby Pool in Wallasey after her and her son were left ‘starving’.
Louise and her loved ones dined at Harvester back on 6 September to mark her daughter Becca’s 19th birthday, but the meal didn’t exactly go down well.
She explained that she decided to order the £17.99 ‘chicken skewer’ dish, as did her son Harrison, after they had both browsed the menu.

The pair had both been impressed by promotional images of the meal that were advertised, which they say showed two large skewers.
But when their food arrived, Louise and Harrison were left outraged after a single ‘burnt’ chicken skewer was plonked in front of them, with a pot of coleslaw, tomato ketchup and some chips.
She has now claimed that she was ‘catfished’ by Harvester as her food did not resemble what was advertised and has vowed to never step foot in one of its restaurants again.
Detailing her dining dilemma, the mum said: “We used to go quite a lot but we hadn’t been for ages. After this, I wouldn’t go again.
“When you look at the picture, it was very different to what you got. The actual skewer was really thick, so you hardly got any chicken on it.”
‘We were catfished’
“My son and I ordered the same,” Louise added. “I was quite shocked and I looked at my son, and I knew it wasn’t enough for him.
“There certainly wasn’t enough protein on that plate. It was awful.”
Louise said her boy was ‘fuming’ and ‘left starving’ after the measly meal, resulting in her having to pick up further food for him on the way home.
And to add insult to injury, she said what they were served at The Derby Pool was barely edible.
“The chicken was burnt, hard and chewy,” Louise went on. “There wasn’t much of it. It was more of a snack than a meal. I feel totally ripped off.
“We were catfished by the Harvester photo of the meal, 100 per cent. It showed two skewers and I only got one.”

Louise said she stumped up more than £200 for her family’s food and subsequently decided to share her experience in a social media post.
“I felt robbed,” she continued. “I wanted to warn other people. It was a lot of money and to pay £18 for a meal and this is what you got, is awful.
“You expect a lovely experience and food that’s going to fill you up.”
Harvester has since responded to Louise’s complaint about her and her son going hungry, while clarifying what went on with the chicken skewers.
The casual dining chain explained that the image which the customer claims ‘catfished’ her actually showed a double chicken skewer, which diners have to add onto the dish.
A spokesperson for Harvester said: “We take guest complaints very seriously and endeavour to resolve all our guest complaints directed to us within a responsible time frame.”
LADbible has contacted Harvester for further comment.
