Daredevil couple climb spire atop Empire State Building in apparent marriage proposal

A daredevil couple climbed the spire of the Empire State Building in Midtown Manhattan Wednesday to unfurl a banner about love.

Cops were called to the iconic skyscraper where the pair, both dressed in black, climbed from the observation tower to the top of the spire about 12:15 p.m.

The couple then released a banner that read “When the power of love beats the love of power, the world knows peace.”

Cops were trying to get the two down.

The stunt comes as another couple, superstar Taylor Swift and football player Travis Kelsey, are expected to be married in Madison Square Garden this weekend.
