Take an all access dive into this year’s NBA Draft Combine, where every drill, measurement, and breakout moment tells a story about the league’s next wave of talent.
Before the NBA Draft, front offices around the league search for every piece of data at their disposal to gain a complete understanding of each prospect.
From May 10–17 in Chicago, 73 players were invited to participate in the AWS NBA Draft Combine, where teams gathered data including anthropometric measurements and strength and conditioning results. Additionally, metrics were gathered from shooting and live-action drills as well as scrimmages.
While the Combine gives a snapshot of a player’s physical tools and skills, seeing how those abilities translate to real-game competition is imperative to a team’s assessment of a prospect.
Synergy play-type data allows teams to dive deeper into each prospect’s game. Collected during the 2025-26 college season, this data tracks how often and how efficiently players operate in actions such as isolation plays, post-ups, spot-ups, cuts to the basket and pick-and-roll sets (as either the ball handler or the roll man).
Insights by SportRadar connects Combine data with Synergy data to paint a much clearer picture. For instance, how does a prospect’s standing reach and wingspan relate to their blocks per game or field goal percentage in the paint? Is there a direct correlation between a player’s 3/4-court sprint time and their points per possession in transition?
Now, fans have access to this type of data heading into the 2026 NBA Draft, opening the door for more in-depth player analysis while their favorite team is on the clock.
