Susan Sarandon Says She’s ‘Still Had Movies Taken Away Recently’ Over Palestine Support: ‘There Are Agencies That Are Telling People Not to Hire Me’

Susan Sarandon said she’s “still had movies taken away recently” over her outspoken support of Palestine.

At the Venice Film Festival press conference for her new film “The Echo Chamber” on Sunday, Sarandon was asked if she thinks the narrative is changing in Hollywood when it comes to the conflict in Gaza. In 2023, the Oscar winner was dropped by her agency UTA after comments she made at a pro-Palestinian rally and said earlier this year she felt she was shunned by the industry for calling for a ceasefire in Gaza.

“I think that the narrative has completely changed in terms of historical relevance of Palestine and the ties of Zionists with America and our politics. That has been a major revelation for people. How much money the United States gives to Israel, nobody really understood that,” Sarandon began.

“I’ve still had movies taken away recently because there are agencies that are telling people not to hire me still,” she continued. “But that’s the power structure. I think within the people, certainly internationally, I feel welcome.”

“The Echo Chamber” hails from Italian director Andrea Pallaoro and filmed in Italy and Belgium. Sarandon stars in the romantic drama, which was Bernardo Bertolucci’s final screenplay, alongside Luca Marinelli and Alicia Vikander.

Sarandon said that Pallaoro was told not to work with her but did so anyway. “I thank Andrea for that, because he doesn’t listen to the warnings,” she said.

“There has been a change in terms of the general public, but there are still positions in my industry that are held by Zionists who have not relaxed their feelings towards me,” Sarandon concluded. “But I found my family, I found my people and I’m OK.”

  • Arbitrum Price Rises 50 Percent in One Day—Here’s Why and What You Need to Know

Arbitrum Price Rises 50 Percent in One Day—Here’s Why and What You Need to Know

Arbitrum ($ARB) experienced one of the most remarkable price increases in the cryptocurrency market today. Ranked as the 53rd largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, $ARB rose approximately 49% in the last 24 hours, reaching $0.1972. While the increase exceeded 50% at some points during the day, $ARB still remains approximately 92% below its all-time high of $2.40 recorded on January 12, 2024.

A chart with 15-minute candles showing the recent rise in $ARB price.

One of the main catalysts behind the sharp rise in $ARB is the rapid growth of Robinhood Chain, built on Robinhood’s $ARB technology. Robinhood Chain, an Ethereum Layer 2 network that launched its mainnet on July 1, 2026, uses the Arbitrum Orbit infrastructure. Under the Arbitrum Expansion Program, $ARB-based chains operating outside of Arbitrum One and Nova contribute 10% of their net protocol revenue to the Arbitrum ecosystem. According to Arbitrum Foundation data, in July, the first month of Robinhood Chain’s operation, the $360,000 in licensing revenue generated from this program constituted 35% of Arbitrum DAO’s monthly revenue.

The recent extraordinary acceleration in activity on Robinhood Chain has further increased the importance of this revenue model for Arbitrum. Daily transaction fees on the network surged to millions of dollars in early September, surpassing the Ethereum mainnet and Coinbase’s Base network on some days. Record levels were also seen in Robinhood Chain’s decentralized exchange trading volume, with the network’s 24-hour DEX volume reaching billions of dollars, increasing investor interest in the $ARB ecosystem.

One of Robinhood Chain’s prominent use cases is its “Stock Tokens” product. Issued by Robinhood Assets Limited, these tokens track the economic performance of US stocks such as NVIDIA, Apple, and Alphabet. While not providing users with direct legal ownership of company shares, the products are offered in numerous countries outside the US.

The economic model between Arbitrum and Robinhood also sparked a notable debate on social media between the founders of Solana and Arbitrum. Anatoly Yakovenko, co-founder of Solana, argued that Robinhood Chain’s 10% revenue share paid to the Arbitrum ecosystem was enough to cover approximately four times the transaction fees on Solana, suggesting that if Robinhood chose Solana, it could offer users significantly lower, even subsidized, transaction costs.

Steven Goldfeder, co-founder of Offchain Labs and $ARB, responded to Yakovenko, stating that Robinhood retains approximately 90% of the gas revenue on the $ARB infrastructure, while it does not receive any revenue from basic network transaction fees on Solana. Goldfeder added that by choosing Arbitrum, Robinhood has opted to “become a homeowner instead of a tenant.”

In $ARB’s revenue sharing model, 8% of the 10% share is allocated to the Arbitrum DAO treasury, managed by $ARB holders, and 2% is dedicated to ecosystem development. Therefore, continued growth in transaction volume and network revenue on Robinhood Chain, while not directly distributed to $ARB token holders, is seen as a significant factor strengthening Arbitrum DAO’s revenue and ecosystem economy.

Maria Bartiromo’s Fox Exit “Self-Inflicted Wound”; Trump Praises “True Warrior” As Legal Threats & Accusations Of Host Sharing Insider Info Fly

EXCLUSIVE: The coup de grâce that caused Fox to announce this week that Maria Bartiromo would “no longer be with” the conservative news outlet was a case of “very bad judgment” and a long time coming, sources say.

The assertions come Friday despite Bartiromo’s Hollywood attorney Bryan Freedman insisting the veteran Wall Street anchor is still “an employee” of Fox and threatening legal action. Adding to the burgeoning media mess surrounding the so-called “Money Honey,” Donald Trump had thrown serious shade on Fox for taking good pal Bartiromo off the air.

That shade could set the stage for yet another showdown between Trump and his once favorite media buddies at the Murdoch-ruled Fox.

“I can’t believe Maria Bartiromo is no longer going to have her great show(s) on FoxNews/Business,” Trump, a frequent Bartiromo guest, posted Thursday night, about 12 hours after Fox announced “effective today” that the Mornings With Maria host was out. “Three different shows, always number one. Maria is a total professional, and a true warrior. Her fans, of which there are many, will not be happy. God bless you, Maria!”

Bartiromo hadn’t been on the air for almost a month, with Deadline confirming that Fox brass had enough of the MAGA-friendly Bartiromo after they learned she passed corporate-guidance missives to the White House in recent months. However, carving her own way at Fox Business and Fox News for more than a decade, those communications were just the latest minefield that Fox execs feared could blow up in everyone’s faces.

“Her indiscretion was just the latest in a series of self-inflicted wounds,” a cable news insider says of Bartiromo and her close ties with Trump. “This has been a concern for a while, Maria being too cozy with the White House. She crossed a line, and she’s suffered the consequences.”

Weary of addressing allegations of similar conduct over the years by Sean Hannity and other Fox hosts, or Bartiromo’s contract specifics, the source added: “She’s no longer with Fox. Take that for what it is.”

Deadline hears that while there may be “technical truth” to Freedman’s remarks today that Bartiromo still works at Fox because of contracts and other paperwork, she is not returning to her Fox Business or Fox News roles — full stop.

Long a passionate defender of POTUS and offering him a platform over the years, Bartiromo’s apparent sharing of internal edicts with Trump administration officials, first reported by Status, made her pink-slipping inevitable.

Digging a little deeper and a few years back, the seeds of Bartiromo’s downfall were evident if you connect the red string.

In April 2023, Fox agreed to pay $787 million to settle a lawsuit filed by Dominion Voting Systems, one of the technology firms singled out in Fox’s coverage of the 2020 election results. Citied in volumes of court filings and the high-stakes trial that had just begun when Fox settled, Bartiromo was one of the main hosts on Fox promoting the false claims of irregularities with the election Trump lost and Joe Biden won. At the time, the top-rated Tucker Carlson was pulled off the air at Fox in a move that resulted in a Freedman-handled legal dust-up between Carlson and the media company.

No word from ex-Apprentice host Trump if Bartiromo is in the running to be the new White House Press Secretary, but sharp-elbowed lawyer Freedman says his client actually isn’t looking for a new job because she still has her old one.

“For many years, Maria Bartiromo hosted three number one rated television shows on Fox channels,” Freedman said Friday, as my colleague Dade Hayes noted earlier. “She has been, without question, one of the hardest working journalists throughout her award winning career.”

The lawyer for the likes of Carlson and Megyn Kelly, as well as Don Lemon, then unsheathed the knife that may lead to a bloody affair down the line.

“The irresponsible reports that have been published stating that Maria Bartiromo was fired or is no longer an employee of Fox are absolutely and unequivocally false,” Freedman said. “Make no mistake, we have the receipts and witnesses and they will come out whether through the courthouse or otherwise. Those reporting her firing or the incredulous facts supporting that fiction have exhibited a complete and utter reckless disregard for the truth.”

When Deadline asked Fox for a response to Freedman’s statement about his client’s employment situation, the company said: “the release speaks for itself.” The White House did not respond to Deadline’s request for comment.

Polish Parliament Fails to Override Crypto Bill Veto in Tight Vote

Polish Sejm Fails to Overturn Presidential Veto On Crypto-Asset Market Act

Poland is facing a battle regarding cryptocurrency regulation amid a national scandal involving the demise of Zondacrypto, the largest local cryptocurrency exchange.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk called last month for a revision of the Crypto-Asset Market Act, which President Karol Nawrocki vetoed three times, after he warned the public about the act’s effects on Poles’ freedom and stability. At the time, he stressed that, given the circumstances, he could “no longer imagine that President Nawrocki, Chairman Kaczyński, and former Prime Minister Morawiecki would reject this problem with such incredible lightness.”

On Thursday, pushed by Tusk, the Sejm added the issue to its working agenda, allowing limited discussion, according to official reports. A vote followed on Friday, where the initiative failed to get the needed support for overturning Nawrocki’s veto, managing only to reach 241 of the 266 votes needed.

The motion marks the third time that the Sejm has failed to overturn the presidential veto on this crypto law, meaning Polish crypto operators still face a difficult task complying with the Markets in Crypto Assets (MiCA) framework, registering their activities in other jurisdictions before operating.

The failed initiative follows a corruption probe that involves government officials connected with Zondacrypto, a national exchange that stole up to $94 million in customer funds. Polish Olympic Committee President Radosław Piesiewicz was detained in connection with this investigation.

Tusk blasted Nawrocki’s party representatives, accusing them of colluding with Zondacrypto and turning Przemysław Kral, Zondacrypto’s former CEO, into a local celebrity.

“In a sense, those who opened the door to the man behind Zonda Crypto—that is, you—very specifically: you, who brought him into the mainstream; who made Zondacrypto the de facto owner of the Polish Olympic Committee,” he declared while addressing the Sejm.

“Zondacrypto infiltrated the Polish state—it infiltrated the Polish state for a long time and without hindrance—because leading politicians from your party guided this company and its owners to the very highest echelons of power,” Tusk concluded.

  • Bitcoin: ‘This consolidation period has introduced doubt in every investor, even OGs’

Bitcoin: ‘This consolidation period has introduced doubt in every investor, even OGs’

Bitcoin [$BTC] has been on the higher side over the past couple of days, with the asset teasing a potential move past the $80,000 region on the chart.

The case is that the price continues to hover around this region with no definitive push. What market participants do at this level remains crucial to understanding Bitcoin’s next move, but for now, there is no definitive direction.

OG Bitcoin holders sell their bags

Data from CryptoQuant tracking Bitcoin OG Spent Transaction Outputs (STXO) using the 90-day moving average has significantly spiked, reaching 1,500 Bitcoin.

Bitcoin OGs are holders who have kept their assets for more than five years. When they spend their Bitcoin, it often indicates a shift in sentiment, as seen recently.

These OGs have moved their Bitcoin, which could indicate selling pressure and suggest that their conviction has weakened, especially as $BTC reaches new local highs.

    Source: CryptoQuant

Pseudonymous senior market analyst Darkfost described the influencing factor behind the recent rally, saying:

“This consolidation period seems to have introduced some doubt across nearly every type of investor, even the most seasoned ones like the OGs.”

Other factors could have also played a role in the move, including the recent Coldcard hack that has driven investors to switch private wallets.

What’s happening on a small scale

AMBCrypto’s look at Long-Term Holders (LTH), a group of investors who hold an asset for at least 155 days, gives a more detailed insight. The analysis was based on the LTH Binary Coin Days Destroyed (CDD) to track whether dormant tokens have moved or not.

Notably, a majority of the sell pressure that came into the market, using a 7-day simple moving average, came between August 19 and 25, a move that likely reflected when the majority of these LTHs sold.

    Source: CryptoQuant

However, since its peak on the 25th of August, the LTH Binary CDD has dropped from a high of 0.85 to the present level of 0.14.

This decline suggests that there is growing calm among these holders, as they have been moving fewer of their tokens over the past few weeks.

    The Spot market is holding

Over the past few days, there has been growing accumulation across the spot market, showing that there has been major buying of the asset.

The Spot netflow hit -$252.40 million on the 4th of September following $2.81 billion in accumulation of the asset in the market. Although, the netflow has dropped significantly to around -$4.03 million as of midday on the 5th of September.

    Source: CoinGlass

For now, there is growing accumulation in the market, and if it continues this way, it can help sustain Bitcoin.

    Final Summary

    • Bitcoin OG holders have increased spending activity, suggesting some long-term investors may be taking profits.
    • Spot market accumulation remains strong, while lower LTH movement points to reduced selling pressure.

Did El Salvador Sell Bitcoin? President Bukele Responds to the Allegations

El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele denied a report by El País claiming the government had transferred control of its state Bitcoin reserves, exceeding 7,763 BTC, to a private operator.

Bukele’s objection is based on an interpretation of the wording in the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) recent statement regarding El Salvador. According to the IMF, the entity whose majority stake and operational control has been transferred to a private operator is not El Salvador’s strategic Bitcoin reserves, but the government-backed Chivo wallet.

The IMF previously stated that El Salvador had submitted documents showing that all of the Bitcoin it had accumulated since its first Extended Funds Facility (EFF) review on June 27, 2025, came from private donations. The institution stated that no public funds were used for Bitcoin purchases during that period and that no additional Bitcoin accumulation beyond the documented donations was expected.

The announcement came after an IMF delegation reached an agreement with El Salvador to combine the second and third reviews of the EFF program. Subject to approval by the IMF Executive Board and fulfillment of the agreed preconditions, El Salvador is expected to gain access to approximately $140 million in additional financing.

  • Matt Gutman Dropped From Former ABC News Field Producer’s Wrongful Termination Lawsuit; Disney, ABC Remain As Defendants

Matt Gutman Dropped From Former ABC News Field Producer’s Wrongful Termination Lawsuit; Disney, ABC Remain As Defendants

UPDATE: Three weeks after news correspondent Matt Gutman was named in a wrongful termination lawsuit filed by a former ABC field producer, Gutman, now a chief correspondent with CBS News, is being dropped from the legal action.

In paperwork filed Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court, lawyers for the ex-ABC producer Samaira Said requested that Gutman, who previously worked alongside Said at ABC, be dismissed from her complaint. No reason was given in the court document as to why the request to drop Gutman is being made.

Said filed the lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court last month, naming as defendants ABC, The Walt Disney Co., Gutman and David Herndon, who had worked as Los Angeles bureau chief. Among other things, she claimed wrongful termination, discrimination, hostile work environment harassment and retaliation for engaging in protected activity. The suit had said Gutman made demeaning statements about Said that “reduced her professional judgment to a sexualized stereotype.” Said also is seeking to drop Herndon from the complaint.

PREVIOUS, August 16: A former ABC News field producer filed a wrongful termination lawsuit against the network, including allegations that her former colleague Matt Gutman, now chief correspondent with CBS News, made inappropriate sexualized remarks when they worked together.

Samira Said filed the lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday. The lawsuit names as defendants ABC, The Walt Disney Co., Gutman and David Herndon, who had worked as Los Angeles bureau chief. Among other things, she claimed wrongful termination, discrimination, hostile work environment harassment and retaliation for engaging in protected activity.

Said claimed that she was terminated after being denied accommodations for mental health issues. She was being treated by a psychiatrist, including for depression, and her provider advised her to reduce her workload to protect her health.

Her lawsuit made a number of claims of adverse employment actions. Said alleged that in one incident during her employment, she was placed on a male-only team that included Gutman, an on-air correspondent, and two crew members.

According to the complaint, “While the team waited in a public queue during the assignment, Gutman initiated a discussion rating a female correspondent’s appearance and reducing her professional standing to a numerical score based on her physical attributes. The male crew joined in, continuing to assess the woman’s body and looks in Said’s presence. The men attempted to draw Said into the conversation by soliciting her views. Said declined and stated the conversation was inappropriate.”

In another incident, per the lawsuit, she and Gutman were at a press day related to a film release, and they disagreed on whether the team should leave the work site. According to the lawsuit,
“In front of multiple coworkers, Gutman responded by making a sexualized insinuation that Said must have an after-hours date in the city and that this is why she did not want to relocate. The remark, made audibly to others, demeaned Said and reduced her professional judgment to a sexualized stereotype.”

CBS News and ABC News have not commented on the litigation.

Gutman joined CBS News earlier this year, after a long tenure at ABC, where he served as chief national correspondent.

According to the lawsuit, after experiencing Covid and covering the mass shooting in Uvalde, Texas, Said was approved for medical leave for two weeks in August, 2022, but “fearing that her employment would be terminated if she remained out too long, Said felt compelled to rush her medical leave and to communicate an expedited return.”

For the rest of the year, her psychiatrist continued to certify the medical necessity of her leave on a recurring basis, and the following January cleared her to return to work subject to reasonable accommodations “designed to enable her to perform the essential functions of the position while protecting against re-exposure to trauma triggers,” per the lawsuit.

Said claimed that HR personnel presented her with an “ultimatum to either return to work without any accommodations, or not to return at all.” Said eventually withdrew her accommodation requests because she was “effectively deterred from doing so” by the defendants “prior course of conduct.”

The lawsuit claimed that she was demoted to weekend desk shifts and, although she was told the assignment was temporary until a replacement was hired, no person was.

In early 2025, Said was assigned to cover the Los Angeles wildfires and additional weather events, according to the suit, and while in the field sustained a bone contusion when a piece of heavy equipment struck her foot. A Disney physician examined her and determined that she was not required to take leave, per the suit.

The lawsuit claimed that ABC News Vice President Katie DenDaas met with her and emphasized that she was one of the news division’s best performers, but she was terminated some days later, on March 5, 2025.

The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages, attorneys fees and costs and declaratory relief.

  • Some Target baskets can track you in-store. Here’s what to know

Some Target baskets can track you in-store. Here’s what to know

    Claim:

Target uses a Bluetooth device on its baskets that tracks shoppers in store.

    Rating:

    True

    Context

Some Target baskets carry a Bluetooth Low Energy Beacon that transmits its location to “smart” lights in the store. The lights can interact with the beacons and Target’s app to find a shopper’s location, help them navigate around a store or send location-specific offers. Because the basket-mounted beacons transmit only locations and do not collect information about the shopper, it is technically Target’s app that tracks shoppers, not the beacons.

In August and September 2026, a claim (archived) circulated online that the retailer Target used a Bluetooth device on its baskets that tracked shoppers in store.

The claim came from an Aug. 29 TikTok video in which a person who appeared to be a Target employee claimed the retailer fitted its baskets with trackers that followed shoppers throughout the store.

    The alleged employee said:

Hello, I just want to make a PSA: You are now being tracked at Target. These baskets, this thing, that’s a tracker, so they’re now tracking shoppers at Target, at your local Target, for, supposedly, “consumer habits.”

Other users shared similar claims about Target’s alleged tracking on Facebook (archived), Instagram (archived), Threads (archived), X (archived) and Reddit (archived). Snopes readers also contacted us about the claim.

In short, Target does track shopper locations using the basket-mounted Bluetooth beacon that the TikTok user showed in their video. The beacon transmits its location to Target’s “smart” overhead LED lights, which in turn can communicate location information to its app.

Acuity Brands, which Target said supplied its LED lights, explained in a news release in 2017 that by using its lights and beacons attached to items such as shopping carts it could deliver “highly accurate, real-time positioning services for customers” through a retailer’s app. Acuity Brands said Target renewed a multiyear deal for products including its indoor location services in 2020.

According to its privacy policy, Target still used LED light and Bluetooth technology to track shoppers in-store in August 2026. The policy advised that customers who did not want to share their store location data could disable location sharing on their device or in the Target app.

We contacted Target to confirm how it collected and used data about customers in store using Bluetooth beacons, as well as how customers could opt out of tracking. We await a reply to our query.

What we know about Target tracking

The TikTok user who shared the video about Target’s basket-mounted beacons on Aug. 29 shared another video (archived) the day after, identifying the exact product Target used to track shoppers as a Bluetooth beacon from Acuity Brands. A Reddit user who posted (archived) about the device six months earlier showed a device with the same FCC ID as the one the TikTok user identified.

The Federal Communications Commission grants FCC IDs to products that meet the necessary regulatory standards for wireless communication.

The product’s user manual said it is a Bluetooth Low Energy Beacon that “communicates its position to Atrius Assets,” the software that Target has used since at least 2020 for indoor location services.

Bluetooth Low Energy Beacons are small devices that send out radio signals that can be picked up by nearby devices. Beacons can only transmit — not receive — data, so they generally rely on apps to interpret and use the data they are sending.

In terms of tracking, if many beacons are sending their location, a device can interpret those signals and triangulate the location of an individual beacon, or individual shopper holding a basket fitted with a beacon. Target wrote in its news release in 2019 that its lights interacted with its app to find customer locations, suggesting that the basket-mounted beacons sent their signals to the lights.

It was unclear from the available information whether Target used the data it gathered about individual shoppers’ routes through their stores beyond providing location-based offers through the app or guiding customers to specific products.

Target used Bluetooth beacons since at least 2015

The technology publication TechCrunch reported that Target and other retailers have used beacon technology to track shoppers in store and send them location-based offers since at least 2015 and that the retailer added Bluetooth beacon-driven indoor mapping to its app in 2017.

Target appeared to still use this technology in 2026. Its privacy policy in August 2026 said Target might use location information shared by customers’ phones to “help you find nearby Target stores; or, in-store location through the use of your phone’s blue tooth signal, LED light chip technologies or other technologies will permit Target to find nearby products for you, get you real-time deals, auto-sort your shopping list and more.”

Target said in its privacy policy that shoppers who wished to opt out of sharing their in-store location could prevent their devices from sharing their location with Target “by adjusting the permissions on your mobile device or within the relevant app.”

It did not appear from the beacon’s manual that shoppers could turn the device off themselves, meaning Target would still collect information about where the basket traveled if a shopper used it, but could not connect that data to a specific phone or customer if the device’s owner turned off location sharing or did not use the Target app.

For further reading, Snopes has previously investigated a number of rumors about Target.

Save Hundreds on HP Hardware Thanks to These Labor Day Weekend Deals

I hope you’re all enjoying your three-day holiday weekend. I’m taking a second away from enjoying time with friends and family to refresh our listings of the best discounts across the tech universe. Labor Day weekend is the summer’s last hurrah for serious deals on all kinds of products, and I wouldn’t miss these opportunities for the world. HP’s online store is top of my list, with discounts of up to 58% on well-reviewed hardware. Here are the five best deals I found.

HP is going wild with the discounts on laptops, and a 48% price drop on the versatile OmniBook X Flip is worth celebrating. A 16-inch touchscreen is the big selling point of this convertible laptop, letting you use it as a massive tablet or tent display. The all-metal chassis feels super durable, even if it is a bit heavy. We have an extensive review, where it handled everyday productivity benchmarks with ease. Under the hood, you’ll find a capable Intel Core Ultra 7 processor paired with 16GB of RAM, with on-device Microsoft Copilot AI features working wonderfully. An integrated Intel Arc 140v graphics card boosts its visual appeal as well. Port selection is solid, and the keyboard feels spacious and responsive. Snagging a laptop with this much appeal for $750 is a rare feat these days, so grab one while you can.

    HP Laptop 15t

15.6-inch HD display, Intel Core i5-1334U CPU, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD

For a more budget-minded laptop, the venerable HP 15t is tough to beat. While the component loadout of this lightweight productivity machine won’t win any awards, it’s put together to give you solid functionality at a very nice price. The Intel Core i5 processor is a capable ten-core CPU with decent benchmarking results, and although the RAM and storage are both pretty skimpy, they’ll do the job. Port selection is minimal, but all the important connectors are there, including both USB-A and USB-C. The three-cell battery is capacious enough for lengthy work sessions, and supports Fast Charge to get it from empty to a half a tank in 45 minutes. With silicon costs what they are, a budget laptop that performs well is a rare thing, so give this one a look.

HP’s gaming offerings are also on sale for Labor Day, and if you’re in the market for a midrange portable PC, this is a great value at $700 off. We have a comprehensive review of the HyperX Omen 16z, where we noted that it was a solid performer, with a durable-feeling build, comfortable keyboard, and responsive touchpad. The version we took into the lab had an underpowered RTX 5050 GPU, but this one boosts that to a much more capable RTX 5060, which makes a huge difference in how it makes modern games look. Other strong points for this one include battery life, which tested out at over 11 hours on a single charge in our evaluation, and decent port selection and connectivity, including Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4.

If you need a no-nonsense desktop tower for everyday productivity, HP is one of the best places to look. Its OmniDesk line of compact desktops delivers reasonable speed at low prices, and snagging a 36% Labor Day price drop makes them some of the best values on the market. This is a budget loadout, but the Intel Core i3 processor is a solid little performer that capably manages Web browsing, spreadsheets, document creation and more without breaking a sweat. The corresponding RAM loadout and storage are both a bit skimpy, but with the cash you save you can easily pop it open for an upgrade. You can read our CES preview for a breakdown of everything you need to know about this machine, but it’s a solid all-rounder at a price that’s tough to beat.

If you’re on the hunt for the deepest discounts this weekend, you’ll have a hard time topping this outrageous 58% price drop on a very capable HP gaming monitor. This isn’t necessarily the screen to get the most out of a high-octane graphics card, because it peaks at 1080p resolution, but with a speedy 180Hz refresh rate, good color coverage, and 1ms gray-to-gray response time, it’s got the juice for fast-action gaming all day. We have a review of a similar HP Omen monitor, where we noted that it was blazingly fast, easy to set up, and had good color accuracy. We did wish that the stand had a few more adjustment options and the on-device controls were easier to use, but those are minor quibbles for a $115 display.
