  • Dutch Exchange Bitvavo Moves $32.6 Million in Chainlink From Coinbase Prime

Dutch Exchange Bitvavo Moves $32.6 Million in Chainlink From Coinbase Prime

A cryptocurrency wallet associated with Dutch exchange Bitvavo has withdrawn 3.89 million Chainlink ($LINK) tokens, valued at approximately $32.59 million, from Coinbase Prime. The funds were transferred to a newly created address, according to on-chain data.

    Details of the Transaction

The large-scale movement was detected by blockchain tracking services on [Date of transaction, e.g., Tuesday]. The address, identified as belonging to Bitvavo, initiated the withdrawal from Coinbase Prime, a platform widely used by institutional clients for custody and trading. The receiving address was previously inactive, suggesting a new wallet setup, possibly for internal treasury management or long-term holding.

    Why This Matters

Large withdrawals from centralized exchanges to private wallets are often interpreted as a bullish signal by market observers, as they typically indicate an intent to hold rather than sell. For Bitvavo, a regulated Dutch exchange serving a European user base, such a transfer could reflect routine treasury rebalancing, cold storage security upgrades, or preparation for staking activities. Chainlink ($LINK) is a prominent oracle network token, and large movements by exchanges can influence market liquidity and sentiment.

    Context and Market Impact

The transfer represents a significant portion of Bitvavo’s known $LINK holdings. While the exchange has not publicly commented on the transaction, similar moves by other platforms have historically preceded staking integrations or enhanced security protocols. At the time of the transfer, $LINK was trading around $8.38, showing relative stability despite the large withdrawal. The on-chain data provides transparency into exchange reserve management, a key factor for user trust in the wake of past industry failures.

    Conclusion

Bitvavo’s $32.6 million $LINK withdrawal from Coinbase Prime is a notable on-chain event that underscores ongoing treasury management by European exchanges. While the specific intent remains unconfirmed, the move aligns with industry practices of securing assets in cold storage. The transaction has not triggered significant market volatility, suggesting it was an operational decision rather than a trading signal.

    FAQs

    Q1: What is Coinbase Prime?
Coinbase Prime is a platform designed for institutional investors and large-scale traders, offering custody, staking, and advanced trading services. It is commonly used by exchanges and funds to manage significant crypto holdings.

Q2: Why would an exchange withdraw such a large amount of $LINK?
Exchanges often move assets to private wallets for enhanced security (cold storage), to prepare for staking, or to rebalance internal reserves. It can also signal a long-term holding strategy rather than immediate selling.

Q3: Does this transfer affect the price of Chainlink?
Large withdrawals can sometimes reduce sell pressure on exchanges, which may be viewed positively by the market. However, the immediate price impact was minimal in this case, as the move appeared to be an operational transfer rather than a market trade.

  • Donald Trump Booed at World Cup Final

Donald Trump Booed at World Cup Final

Donald Trump was booed at the 2026 FIFA World Cup final on Sunday.

The president took the stage at MetLife Stadium (which was referred to as New York New Jersey Stadium for the tournament), located in East Rutherford, New Jersey, with FIFA president Gianni Infantino to present the trophy to tournament champion Spain after the team defeated Argentina in extra time by a score of 1-0.

As the two men walked out onto the field, boos could be heard coming from the crowd.

On July 6, Trump confirmed that he’d personally intervened to help overturn a suspension for one of U.S. soccer’s star players, striker Folarin Balogun, following a controversial red card against him. Trump said he called Infantino, leading FIFA to suspend the red card decision, thus allowing Balogun to compete in the Round 16 game against Belgium. (The U.S. went on to lose that match by a score of 4-1.)

The reaction against the move was a mixture of anger and disappointment, particularly among Belgians, as one might expect.

The reversal was said to be unprecedented: According to The New York Times, this marked the first time FIFA had reversed a red card since 1962.

Trump arrived at the stadium on Sunday in Marine One. The helicopter flew over the stadium about 45 minutes before kickoff. He watched the match from a VIP section behind glass with Infantino.

Also sitting nearly were Spain’s king, Felipe VI; Canadian prime minister Mark Carney; and Mexican president Claudia Sheinbaum.

  • Jim Gilstrap, Singer on ‘Good Times’ Theme and Stevie Wonder’s “You Are the Sunshine of My Life,” Dies at 70

Jim Gilstrap, Singer on ‘Good Times’ Theme and Stevie Wonder’s “You Are the Sunshine of My Life,” Dies at 70

James “Jim” Gilstrap, a singer whose credits include the Good Times theme song and Stevie Wonder‘s “You Are the Sunshine of My Life,” has died. He was 79.

Gilstrap’s nephew and family spokesperson, Geoffrey “Geoff Gil” Gilstrap, said he died Saturday from natural causes.

Gilstrap sang the song for Good Times, which ran from 1974-79, with Blinky Williams. The catchy, gospel-tinged tune (“Keepin’ your head above water/Making a wave when you can”) was composed by Dave Grusin with lyrics by Alan and Marilyn Bergman.

Gilstrap was a featured vocalist with Stevie Wonder’s Wonderlove and contributed to many of the singer’s recordings. He sang the first two lines of Wonder’s “You Are the Sunshine of My Life” (“You are the sunshine of my life/That’s why I’ll always be around”). Singer Lani Groves sang the next two lines (“You are the apple of my eye/Forever you’ll stay in my heart”) before Wonder’s vocals kick in, with Gilstrap and Groves continuing to sing backup. The song, from Wonder’s 1972 album Talking Book, won the Grammy Award for best male pop vocal performance.

Gilstrap also worked on Wonder’s albums Wonderlove and Innervisions

In 1975, he signed a recording contract with Chelsea Records and released a single, “Swing Your Daddy” that reached No. 4 on the U.K. Singles Chart and No. 10 on the  U.S. Billboard Black Singles chart. The song peaked at No. 64 in Australia. He released an album, Love Talk, in 1976.

Throughout his career, Gilstrap also collaborated with Quincy Jones, Michael Jackson, The Jacksons, Aretha Franklin, Anita Baker,  Whitney Houston, James Ingram, George Benson, Bill Withers, Gladys Knight, Luther Vandross, Patti LaBelle, Kenny Loggins, Dolly Parton, Teddy Pendergrass, Stanley Clarke, Boz Scaggs and others.

“Jim was one of the most respected session vocalists of his generation, bringing his powerful and soulful voice to countless recordings that helped define the sound of popular music,” his nephew said.

Born Nov. 10, 1946, Gilstrap was the last surviving member of a family of 10 siblings. He is survived by his wife, Gloria, and his children.

  • The GENIUS Act turns 1: State of Crypto

The GENIUS Act turns 1: State of Crypto

A year on, the rules aren’t quite ready for implementation, but we have a much clearer idea as to how the regulators are thinking about stablecoins and where they’re likely to land on those rules.

In an emailed statement, Crypto Council for Innovation CEO Ji Hun Kim called the passage of the bill “a landmark moment.”

“A year in, agencies, institutions, and innovators are building on a clearer foundation, and stablecoins are moving rapidly toward mainstream adoption,” he said.

The various regulators have proposed rules out for comment on the different aspects of stablecoin governance and regulation, including a proposal that would require stablecoin issuers to conduct similar know-your-customer checks to more traditional financial firms. The FDIC published 144 questions a few months ago about how it would oversee stablecoin issuers, looking at concerns like custody, capital and liquidity standards. The OCC, for its part, put out its own proposal in February laying out how it was interpreting the law.

There’s still a few months left before these rules start being finalized. And in the meantime, the industry is still working on getting the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act passed.

The text of the combined Clarity Act drafts is not yet public, at least as of Friday night. While industry sources expected the bill to be released last week, the timeline has constantly evolved. On Thursday, Senators Cynthia Lummis and Bernie Moreno were supposed to brief Trump on the bill. There was no public readout of that meeting available after, but both lawmakers tweeted about Trump’s remarks on the election later Thursday.

Maximize Your Productivity With Windows 11 Pro for Less Than $10 Today

TL;DR: A Windows 11 Pro license key is on sale for $9.97 (MSRP $199) through StackSocial, ending July 19.

Today’s the last day to get this price, so don’t wait on this one. Windows 11 Pro is $9.97, down from its $199 MSRP, and the offer closes tonight.

You don’t need new hardware to get a faster, more secure PC. A Windows 11 Pro license does most of that work on its own, and right now it costs less than a fast-food combo meal. Windows 10 no longer receives security updates or patches, which makes this one of the cheaper ways to keep a machine current.

    Upgrades in Windows 11 Pro

    • DirectX 12 Ultimate for ray-traced graphics and higher frame rates

    • Auto HDR, which adds contrast and color even to older games

    • DirectStorage for faster game load times on compatible hardware

    • Improved window management and snap layouts

    • Faster boot speeds and a cleaner, more intuitive interface

It’s built to make better use of the hardware already in your machine rather than demand an upgrade to run.

Get Windows 11 Pro for $9.97, down from its $199 MSRP, before the offer ends July 19.
