After months of rumors, Apple is finally ready to show off its next-generation devices at a Sept. 9 event that will also mark the formal debut of John Ternus as CEO.
New iPhones are a given, but Apple is reportedly shaking things up this year. We won’t see a standard iPhone 18 until next year; this week’s event is all about the Pro versions, making room for a new Apple form factor: the foldable phone. But don’t forget about the new Apple Watches, AirPods, and maybe a smart home refresh?
PCMag’s Eric Zeman, Florence Ion, and Andrew Gebhart will be on the ground in Cupertino on Wednesday to bring you all the news. Follow along in our live blog below and the livestream embedded above, starting at 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. PT. Before the show starts, tune in for live coverage from PCMag’s Executive Producer, Iyaz Akhtar, and CNET Editor at Large, Bridget Carey, starting at 9:30 a.m. PT / 12:30 p.m. ET.
Apple’s got another yearly iPhone event up its sleeves, and we’re expecting the new 18 series, the company’s first-ever foldable, the Watch Series 12, and more.

Our Review of the First iPhone in 2007 Was Pitch-Perfect
As part of our Apple a Day series, we looked back at PCMag’s review of the first iPhone, and it’s amazing to see how prescient it was. On the eve of a new iPhone line, we consider just how much Apple’s handheld device has influenced the mobile technology landscape.

What I Got Dead Wrong About the Original Apple Watch
Ahead of this week’s event, we kicked off a series called An Apple a Day, where we’ll share pieces of Apple content from our archives. Before Apple unveils the Apple Watch Series 11 and a revamped Ultra, PCMag’s Alex Colon looks back on his review of the original smartwatch in 2015. He was right about the launch—and completely off about the long game.

About Our Expert
Chloe Albanesius
Executive Editor, News
Experience
I started out covering tech policy in DC for The National Journal, where my beat included state-level tech news and all the congressional hearings and FCC meetings I could handle. I later covered Wall Street trading tech before switching gears to consumer tech. I now lead PCMag’s news coverage.
Getting my start in DC means I still have a soft spot for tech policy; Congressional hearings can sometimes be as entertaining as a Bravo reality show, for better or worse. But PCMag is all about the technology we use every day, as well as keeping an eye out for the trends that will shape the industry in the years ahead (or flop on arrival). I’ve covered the rise of social media, the iOS vs. Android wars, the cord-cutting revolution that’s now left us with hefty streaming bills, and the effort to stuff artificial intelligence into every product you could imagine. This job has taken me to CES in Vegas (one too many times), IFA in Berlin, and MWC in Barcelona. I also drove a Tesla 1,000 miles out west as part of our Best Mobile Networks project. Of late, my focus is on our hard-working team of reporters at PCMag, guiding and editing their robust coverage.
