It’s sad to have to admit it, but the evolution of technology has spurred an evolution of crime. There are more vectors than ever before for malicious hackers, virus writers, and other black hats to access your PC, phone, or tablet, installing spyware, compromising accounts, and generally ruining your life. We’ve always held that it’s irresponsible to use a computer without a robust antivirus package, and if you don’t know where to start, start here: Surfshark One’s potent protection package at a massive discount with coupon code antivirusdeal.
Chopping 85% off the sticker price for two years of Surfshark means you’re spending pennies to get some of the best virus and malware protection on the market. Surfshark is a top pick for most PC users, as it’s affordable, reliable, and easy to configure.
We wouldn’t recommend any program without testing it first, and we have a comprehensive review of Surfshark One that concludes it’s a great value. When we evaluate an antivirus program, we pit it against our huge collection of malware and harmful programs on a quarantined device. We don’t take their word for it, but individually check each response to make sure that the software does what it promises. Surfshark dazzled across all of our tests, with special achievements in phishing protection, correctly stopping over 100 infected sites.
PCMag’s Principal Security Writer Neil Rubenking used it to screen a wide variety of other incursions, noting that it consistently delivered thorough initial scans, identified malware of multiple types, and featured a truly useful browser extension that offers a host of options for managing cookies, blocking ads, and more. It’s a robust system that you can tweak endlessly to your target strictness, and the company continues to innovate new features as well.
If you’re signing up for sites and services, Surfshark One’s Alternative ID service gives you a dummy email and phone number to use, keeping your regular inboxes clear of spam. It also offers personal data monitoring and alert to ping you if your information gets leaked. While neither of these are strict antivirus tools, they help create a complete digital protection suite that’s really worth the money.
VPN integration is key to Surfshark One’s value. In addition to all of the antivirus power, this subscription gets you access to servers in over 100 countries, with optional multi-hop routing for even more privacy. We gave the stand-alone VPN offering an Editors’ Choice award in our full review, gushing over its speedy 460Mbps maximum data rate, regularly published transparency reports, and a clear and well-defined privacy policy. That attention to detail stretches across every product they develop, and it’s an absolute pleasure to use.
