The mother of Levi Davis, who was last seen leaving a pub in Barcelona in 2022, has shared her final interaction with him.
The X Factor star, 24, was in Ibiza working on music before taking a boat to the Catalan city in October 2022.
Levi’s mother, Julie Davis, said the last time she heard from him was when he sent her a video call from the boat.
“He sent a video saying, “Mum, look at the water, it’s beautiful out here. Wish you were here,’” Julie, from Birmingham, told Metro.
She said the British rugby union player ‘was quite happy, jolly and looking forward to life really and his travels’.
“There wasn’t anything untoward. Yes, he had his issues, but he was at a place at that point in time where he was just looking forward to living the rest of his life,” Julie added.
“I was quite happy for him because he’d been through quite a lot. It was the side of Levi that I had known since he’d been born. Happy and full of life.”
Levi was last seen on CCTV leaving The Old Irish Pub in Barcelona at around 11:00pm on 29 October 2022.
His last known communication was a WhatsApp voice note sent to friends and family shortly after midnight on 30 October.
A few weeks after he vanished, his passport was discovered near the Barcelona port. The Catalan police concluded their initial investigation and stated their most plausible theory was that he drowned at sea.

While the official case in Spain was closed, family and independent journalists have urged further review.
Four days prior to his disappearance, Davis posted a distressing video on social media, claiming his life was in danger, that he had been drugged, sexually assaulted, blackmailed and targeted by extortion.
“Hello, my name is Levi Davis, and my life is in danger… I beg that you listen and try to understand what I’m telling you,” he said in the now-deleted clip.

Davis claimed he met an unnamed individual that he began a relationship with, and that he was drugged.
He said that he was forced to perform sexual acts on camera while under the influence of drugs and was put in ‘compromising positions’.
“The information that I gave to the police went directly back to these individuals,” Davis explained.
“There is a large amount of police corruption and the only way that these people would’ve had access to my private interviews with the police is through it being leaked.”
For the family to find out how Levi ended up in the water, they have been instructed to get a lawyer, which could cost in the region of £12,000.
“I can’t put into words [how frustrating that is]. My life is basically on hold. It’s affecting the whole family,” Julie added to Metro.
“It just feels like this can’t be real. I would never have imagined this happening to our family at all. Levi was on his way up and worked hard to get where he was. For this to happen is more than shocking. I feel like I’m watching a movie.”
