Nine people, including two children, have died after a private jet crashed in Florida on Sunday (1 November).

The Learjet 60 was flying from Texas to the Bahamas and had seven passengers onboard plus two crew members when it plunged from the sky and hit the road before bursting into flames.

An investigation into the crash has been launched, with investigators saying they were considering whether weather conditions may have been a factor.

The families of the seven passengers have since been confirmed as Adam Robinson, 45, his wife, Helen Sharp, 40, and their two children, Emma, two, and Charlie, four as well as their children’s nanny Anita Maria Cetina; and another couple, Rachael Reed and Charmi Fehr.

Pilot Jeff Gregory, 55, and 20-year-old co-pilot Nathalia Filgueiras, have also been identified.

Adam was a tech entrepreneur and the founder and CEO of Retention, RB2B and Moltsets.

He would regularly take part in interviews, sharing his wisdom about how to run a successful start-up.

Adam attended Rich University and graduated in 2003 with a degree in economics, he was also on his college’s basketball team, with former head-coach Willis Wilson saying he was ‘an uplifting guy who was loved by his teammates and coaches’, The Houston Chronicle reports.

He was on board the flight alongside his wife Helen, who founded public relations agency Influential PR where she remained CEO, according to her LinkedIn profile; she also had her own ceramic studio.

The couple’s two children – four-year-old Charlie and Emma, two – were also on the flight.

In a joint statement, Adam and Helen’s family said: “Adam and Helen were devoted parents, and Emma, 4, and Charlie, 2, were the light of their lives. Helen and Adam were the love affair that will last forever. Their warmth, generosity and gift for making people feel welcome touched so many lives. Their loss will be felt deeply by all those who loved them and who they loved in return.”

Adam’s company also paid tribute to the family, saying in a statement: “We are heartbroken by the loss of Adam Robinson, our CEO and co-founder, his wife Helen and their two young children, who died in a tragic plane crash in Palm Beach County, Florida, on November 1, 2026.

“Adam was much more than our CEO. He was a friend, a mentor and a bold, outspoken leader who lived life to the fullest. He cared deeply about the people around him and brought energy and conviction to everything he built. His loss is deeply felt across our team and the tech community, as we collectively mourn this significant loss.”

Pilot Jeff Gregory, 55, has also been identified as being on the plane, according to East Coast Jets, a private charter company where he used to work.

In a statement, a spokesperson from the company said: “We are deeply saddened to learn that Captain Jeff Gregory was among those who lost their lives in yesterday’s tragic aviation accident in Palm Beach.”

The spokesperson told the BBC that Jeff had worked at the company in 2016 and 2017.

Jeff’s friend and former neighbour David Peters told The U.S. Sun that he had trained to become a pilot in the 1990s and worked as a commercial pilot.

“I know he worked hard to become a pilot and it was something he truly loved and poured his life and heart into,” he said.

Peters also told the publication that Jeff was survived by his wife and ‘several children’.

Twenty-year-old Nathalia Gadelha Filgueiras has been named as the co-pilot on the flight.

Nathalia earned her pilot license while she was still in high school, before she passed her driving test.

Speaking to CBS12 News when she was just 17, she said: “I definitely do brag because people say, ‘Oh you can’t drive,’ and I’m like, ‘Yeah but I can fly.’”

Her mother, Camila Corteleti, confirmed to US media that she had died in the crash.

“Everybody was so impressed with her. They hired her because they knew how good she was and how much she loved it,” Camila told the New York Post.

“I know if she could pick a way to go, this would be her way to go, but I didn’t want it to be so soon.”
