Lookonchain assessed that MARA Holdings’ latest acquisition may also be driven by a sales motive.

The company reportedly plans to continue converting a portion of the Bitcoin it earns from mining operations and holds in its reserves into cash throughout 2026.

It was estimated that MARA Holdings may have sold approximately 1,000 $BTC last week as well. With this latest transfer, the assessment that the company is continuing its activities of converting its Bitcoin assets into cash has resurfaced.

Bitcoin mining companies sometimes sell their crypto assets in reserve to cover operating expenses and manage their cash flow.

However, it has not yet been confirmed whether MARA Holdings’ recent transfer to BitGo resulted in a direct sale.

Given that BitGo also offers custody services, it’s possible the transaction has a different asset management purpose.
