Donald Trump made an eyebrow-raising comment about Nikki Minaj’s figure just hours after a White House official teased that the rapper could be the next press secretary.
The 43-year-old star has been an outspoken supporter of the US president, hailing herself as his ‘number one fan’ earlier this year.
On Sunday (25 October), Minaj joined him on stage during a campaign rally in Port Huron, Michigan ahead of the US midterms.
Introducing her to the crowd, the 80-year-old said: “By the way, I looked at one hell of a beautiful a** before, Nicki Minaj.”
He then encouraged her to stand up and show off her figure, before adding: “That’s hard to miss.”
“I hope Nicki wasn’t insulted, but we love Nicki,” he added.
“She’s been with us for a long time.”
And it seemed as though Minaj was not at all put out by the comment, as she told the crowd: “President Trump, it is an honour to stand with you every single time, and I will continue to support you forever and ever.”

She also added: “If you run again, I will support you again.”
Trump is currently serving his second term meaning he would not be allowed to run for POTUS again but he has previously suggested there may be a way to get around the rules.
Earlier on Sunday, White House Communications Director Steven Cheung sat down with Minaj aboard Air Force One, while they headed out to the rally.
In a post on X, Cheung shared a short clip of their conversation and playfully suggested that Minaj could be the next press secretary.
“Ladies and gentlemen, I think we may have found the new White House Press Secretary! @NICKIMINAJ,” he wrote.
Minaj reposted the post to her own account alongside two emojis: an American flag and a laughing face.
She also gave her followers a look around Air Force One with a short clip filmed onboard ahead of her chat with Cheung.
Cheung’s post comes after previous White House press secretary Katie Zacharia was fired from the job in just five days.
Following on from Karoline Leavitt, Zacharia was a surprise choice when Trump announced her appointment earlier this month.
He said he told Zacharia that she might want to change her mind about the job, and said he thought she had been treated unfairly by the press.
“I told her, ‘I think you’re better off being happy’,” Trump told reporters on the White House lawn as he left for a rally in Georgia.
“I said, ‘Honestly, if I were you, I’d reconsider’. I said, ‘You think about it, but I would reconsider’.
“‘Katie, do you need this? I don’t think you need this’,” and that he wanted ‘her to have a good life’ and not be subjected to criticism, which he likened to being ‘brutalised by the media’.
After a rocky inaugural briefing from Zacharia, it was announced that she would be ‘transitioning out of the role’ just five days after starting it.
Commenting after the news was shared, Zacharia shared a snap of herself alongside Trump on X where she said it was ‘an honour to work for him’.
